"Dear Tom & Diane,

Thank you for all your help in making our trip so successful.

For many years now I have fished around France and I am fortunate to spend 7/8 weeks a year on some of the very best waters France has to offer,

I came across Clearwater’s Lake some 5 years ago on my way down to another lake and as you do popped in to have a look, It was March 2010 cold and wet I met up with the Bailiff and after a cuppa was shown around the Lakes, At that time 2 guys from UK were fishing Spring lake and I was fortunate to see one of them land a superb 30 mirror.

I spent some time talking to them and they told me that they have been coming over for a winter session for a few years and had done well with fish around 25 to early 30s it is hard to find a water that fishes well in the winter months so thought I would keep an eye on Clearwater.

Over the past years I have fished the lake a few times and have seen the fish grow, the lake now produces average fish around 30lbs and a good head of 40s with some quality 50lb plus fish. Clearwater’s is not a hard water it is a hungry water with a big head of fish, You do not need to use complicated rigs, just tubing safety clips and a bit of common sense

The rules are standard fishing practice barbless hooks, 42” landing nets, good size cradle or euro matt, as far as bait is concerned freezer baits, no shelf life, Pellets and maize work well, Tom does have bait on site should you wish to use their own, just order it in advance.
The facilities are excellent the best I have encountered in France, Plenty of freezer space a fully loaded kitchen they even put tea and coffee on tap, The shower block is clean with UK style toilets and always plenty of hot water good place to store you cloths.

Should you wish to have a full package then Diane will provide you with a Breakfast and Dinner package

Clearwater’s lakes is a good carp fishery an easy water that I am sure you will enjoy, The week we fished in September our party landed over 200 Carp to 47lb, If you are looking for a water to catch a few fish and have a good experience then Clearwater’s is for you

"What a week we just had at clearwater yet again ! We turned up to find that alot of hard work and effort had been put in to clear alot of the snags in the edges and underwater had been taken out which was great to give you more chance of landing your quarry and is also paramount for the safety of the fish . Me and 3 other guys managed to land 173 fish between us only fishing from 6 30 pm until 11 30 am to rest our swims . Of which 5 of them were over 40 pound . 31 over 30 pound .it really was a magic week and it was sad to leave the beautiful surroundings . On arrival we had a warm welcome from Tom and his wife Dianne and were soon going about setting out our stalls for the week with the aid of Tom on the quad and trailer . Paul Lingham beat his pb mirror twice with a 45 and a 46 . he beat his pb common twice biggest 41 . He beat his pb linear 39 pound and had 12 x 30s I had a nice linear a different fish also 39 pound . Sean had them up to 39 plus 9 x 30s and martin smashed his pb five times it was his first trip to France and he had the best of the week on the friday at 46 pound 4 ounces . What a brilliant time . Thanks from the lads from Devon ."
